Meet Lance
I am a learning technologist, instructional designer, researcher, and technology professional with more than 15 years of experience in higher education. My work focuses on the intersection of learning, technology, artificial intelligence, digital communication, and human development.
I help educators and organizations make complex technologies more understandable, useful, and aligned with the needs of the people they serve.
My Background
My career has developed across student support, academic technology, instructional design, online learning, information security, and faculty development. These experiences have allowed me to view technology from several perspectives: as a learner, educator, administrator, researcher, and technical practitioner.
I have supported learning management systems, developed online courses and professional learning resources, led technology implementations, assisted faculty and students, and helped organizations strengthen their digital practices. Across each role, my focus has remained the same: using technology intentionally to improve learning, performance, access, and decision-making.

What I Do
Learning Experience Design
Designing accessible, engaging, and practical learning experiences for online, blended, and instructor-led environments.
Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology
Developing AI education, responsible-use guidance, workflows, and resources that help people apply emerging technologies thoughtfully.
Learning Technology and Digital Systems
Supporting learning management systems, educational software, Microsoft 365 environments, integrations, and technology adoption.
Research and Communication
Translating research and complex ideas into clear writing, presentations, visual projects, and educational resources.
Beyond the Work
Outside of my professional work, I value time with my family and enjoy reading, writing, golf, endurance athletics, emerging technologies, and philosophy. These interests give me space to reflect, recharge, and continue learning, and they often influence the questions I explore through my research and creative work.
